The organisation committee was prompt at 12 o'clock on the 24th ready to
welcome the participants and direct
them to the coffee and cakes that were waiting for them.
About 17:30 the bus arrived to takes to the boat trip through the canals of the city of Berlin. Fortunately the weather of 2004 didn't repeat itself, it was a beautiful warm summer evening, which made the sights look even better and the drinks taste better. Afterwards the bus took us to the Restaurant Romiosini, where a super buffet was waiting for us. All in all a super evening.
On Friday around 10:30 we all met on the Avus North Kurve in preparation for a Korso (Parade) through the streets of Berlin. This time the "weißen Mäuse" were there, no longer in white but in green, to escort us. This time we had a short break on the Gendarmenmarkt before we continued to Meilenwerk for lunch. The weather was definitely not on our side but due the excitement of the Korso most of us hardly noticed that it was raining.
As always Saturday was the Rally, again to "Altes Lager"
(near Jüterbog). On the way were Checkpoints at which questions had to be answered. All the special stages were
on the disused runway behind the GoKart Track.
There were 5 Special Stages:
1. Shooting Goals
2. Driving our rather special Mini (probably the best and most amusing stage)
3. Boccia
4. Distance judging
5. Declutching game
The prize giving that evening was in the Alten Wasserwerk, with a Buffet and Musik, a super end to a very nice day.
Sunday, after Brunch in Meilenwerk and farewell to a number of participants, we set off to the tour
of the Rolls Royce Turbine works, very interesting..... Thanks Andy.
Afterwards we drove, including rather long diversion, to Schloss Diedersdorf where we could fortify ourselves with food and
drink. Afterwards a few more participants said their farewells.
On Monday the outing was into the Spreewald, the weather couldn't have been better, the boat trip made up for the long drive, a super finale to the 9th International ......... Thanks to Waltraud und Jürgen.
All participants were of one opinion (apart from a few minor complaints) - another very successful MG-Meeting
